Liquid Chlorine
Liquid chlorine is used as a disinfectant in both wastewater and water treatment processes. It is dosed into the wastewater plant effluent prior to the nominated water disposal solution. This serves to eliminate E. Coli in the water to allowable levels (below 10 CFU/mL). In water treatment, chlorine levels are maintained at 0.4 mg/L to eliminate any harmful bacteria in the water. ABCO sources liquid chlorine (sodium hypochlorite) at a standard concentration of 12.5% for all its treatment requirements.
